Each of our mental health programs at San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is designed with a person-centric focus. That means we treat each and every patient as an individual. Our programs are created and implemented by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and mental health technicians, who specialize in mental health treatment for teens, adults, and military personnel.
Both inpatient and outpatient programs at our San Antonio facility are centered on reducing psychiatric and/or substance abuse symptoms, stabilizing the patient, and helping patients positively cope with psychiatric disorders in everyday life. Our inpatient program for adults 18 and over is designed for patients suffering from acute psychiatric symptoms who need 24-hour monitoring in a safe and secure environment. Treatment is tailored to help patients regain the necessary skills to be in maximum control of their emotions and behaviors. Comprehensive assessment, group and family therapy, medication management, and other services are part of our customized approach.
Our adolescent inpatient program provides acute psychiatric care for youth ages 12 through 17 who need constant care and monitoring. The safe and structured environment, along with specialized programs designed by our youth specialists, allows teens to work toward dealing with psychiatric and psychological disorders, such as depression, suicidal thoughts or ideation, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, severe aggressive behavior, or others.
Our Partial Hospitalization Program assists adult patients who are transitioning from inpatient care to outpatient intensive therapy. Patients in this program have seen improvement in managing their psychiatric and psychological issues through hospitalization. This program helps them maintain the gains they have seen, as well as continue to learn ways to cope and manage in daily life. The program runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For patients who continue to recover from psychiatric and substance abuse issues but who have made strides in achieving and maintaining stability, we offer the Intensive Outpatient Program. Participants can attend the program Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., but hours at our San Antonio location can be flexible based on the patient’s needs.
